Can you give some advice to folks looking to do kitchen or bathroom renovations?
Firstly, the things to consider when starting your kitchen renovation is the space you have to work with, whether you are able to freely change the layout or remove and add walls. This is all determined by the positioning of openings like doors and windows but also things like plumbing, power other structural fixtures and load bearing walls. At Exclusiv Kitchens we would come out to assess your space and from there we would be able to give our expert opinions on any changes you were wanting to make. Apart from the actual design of the space there are things such as cabinetry finishes, fittings like your tapware and handles, lighting, appliances and benchtop finishes that also need to be discussed. We can guide you in making these decisions, with a showroom full of these options we can walk you through your options and the benefits of in each application.
When renovating bathrooms, it is important to consider things like relocating vanities and showers and the need to create new plumbing. Also, to consider tiling heights on all walls.
It is one of the only investments in its price range that can last up to 20 years with every day usage. So, make sure you take time to research exactly what is going in your kitchen or bathroom.
Can you give some cabinet design ideas?
Kitchens need to not only look good but be functional. Sometimes the best way of creating more storage is to void it off and access it from another point, we put in a lot of servery cupboards where you have full access to the space but from the other side of the kitchen. We have many more storage solutions that we can offer and are on display here at our showroom for you to see.
What influences the cost of a new kitchen?
There are quite a few things that determine the cost of your kitchen. However there are three main things that really define the cost of your kitchen, your cabinetry fronts, benchtops and your hardware. The cabinetry fronts and benchtops really depend on the materials you choose for example, Laminate vs Stone, where stone will be the more expensive option. The hardware costs depend on things like your soft-close or automotive systems, each upgrade will add to the expense of your kitchen. Here at Exclusiv Kitchens we can help you achieve what you want within your budget.
Can you give some advice on kitchen planning?
According to kitchen experts today the 1950’s kitchen model of the “working triangle” has passed. This is due to no longer having one cook in the kitchen and our desire to have open plan designs where the kitchen is now more of a sociable space with many spaces in the one. There is still a guide to designing your kitchen, but it is specific to each individual household and the lifestyle they lead. A few things to consider is your how each space within the kitchen works for example how you prepare food, whether you are left-handed or right and what you need generally next to you when preparing. This will save steps taken and time to prepare each meal. If you need more information on kitchen planning pop into our showroom and ask one of our friendly staff to give you a helping hand.
Can you give some ideas/ advise about the trending 2024 kitchen designs?
Kitchen styles really differ to individual tastes and lifestyles but something that has really become popular and shows no sign of decreasing is handleless kitchens. Handleless cabinetry makes your kitchen look streamline and clean, although handles do add character they can become busy and in terms of functionality there is really no difference. Other trending movements in kitchens are the increase of automotive hardware and lift-up wall cabinetry, which are not only designed to increase the flow of a kitchen but a chance to decorate the interior cabinets. If you need more information on kitchen planning pop into our showroom and ask one of our friendly staff to give you a helping hand.

What about Bathroom costs?
Bathrooms can be another large investment. Generally speaking there are more trades required in renovating a bathroom and a lot more work! Everything from demolition, screeding floors, re-sheeting walls, tiling, plumbing and electrical is catered for by Exclusiv kitchens. We do it all, this means minimal hassle to you.
Generally, there are three key areas that effect the cost of the bathroom.
Materials/fittings– these can vary substantially from budget to very high end. We recommend a good value range that looks great but the end products are always your choice.
Tiling – Tiling from floor to ceiling is a very popular trend. It does however cost more. The preparation, labour and materials can really add up. We always discuss this topic with you to ensure that you are getting what you want and keeping within your investment range.
Size –Obviously the bigger a room the more is required. You may want to be removing walls or constructing new ones, you may want to relocate items. When relocating items in a bathroom it is important to note that often drainage requires moving as do the water pipes, this is not as expensive as many think however it can increase the costs.
Generally speaking an average bathroom can be renovated fully for between $18000-$22000.
